Confident Body Confident Child
Confident Body, Confident Child
A Positive, Evidence-Based Approach to Raising Body-Confident Kids
Confident Body Confident Child (CBCC) is an internationally recognized, evidence-based prevention program designed to help parents, caregivers, and educators nurture healthy body image, positive eating behaviors, and strong self-worth in children ages 2–12. White Pine Center for Healing is proud to offer this program to families, schools, and community organizations across our region.
At its heart, CBCC empowers adults with the tools, language, and confidence to support children as they develop their sense of identity, belonging, and body trust—before body dissatisfaction or disordered eating take root.
Why Early Prevention Matters
Children begin absorbing cultural messages about appearance and weight shockingly early. These messages—whether online, in peer groups, or even within their own households—can shape how a child feels about their body and their worth.
Confident Body Confident Child intervenes long before those beliefs solidify, helping adults create environments where:
All bodies are respected
Food is approached without shame or fear
Children learn to trust and care for their own bodies
Confidence is built on character, abilities, and values– not appearance
By strengthening a child’s emotional foundation, we support lifelong resilience, self-compassion, and a healthier relationship with food and body image.
What the Program Covers
CBCC provides adults with practical, research-driven strategies, including:
How to talk about bodies in positive, inclusive, and nonjudgmental ways
How to respond when a child expresses body dissatisfaction
Tools to reduce harmful weight-focused talk at home and in classrooms
Approaches to mealtimes that support attuned, responsive eating
Ways to counteract unrealistic beauty ideals and media pressures
How to model self-acceptance and confidence for young children
Participants receive guidance, scripts, activities, and take-home resources that make these strategies easy to implement in everyday life.
