Eating Disorder Education & Prevention

Each of the following services can stand alone or be paired together to create a unique curriculum to meet the needs of the organization. These programs can be used within the Erie community in many ways to help raise awareness of disordered eating and how to cultivate health and wellness around nutrition and body image.

The Perfect Storm

Eating disorder 101, The Perfect Storm covers everything that pertains to the awareness of eating disorders, how they develop, signs and symptoms, and treatment.

Confident Body Confident Child (CBCC)

What parents can do to foster a healthy relationship with food and body image

Love Your Tree

One session workshop on body image focusing on positive body image through art for schools and youth groups.

Eat Breathe Thrive

This live and interactive course integrates yoga and experiential activities to help you eat mindfully, build resilience, and feel better about your body.

The Body Project

A Cognitive Dissonance program for teens and preteens, arguing against the Western ideal body image.

HeartMath

Stress, resilience and emotion regulation program which aligns heart, brain, immune system and autonomic nervous system so that the entire body is in sync.

Gifts of Imperfection

This group is based off of Brené Brown’s book that focuses on how to overcome fear and self-consciousness and build an “imperfect life” while finding and practicing true self-authenticity.

Intuitive Eating

Nurture the body rather than starve it, encourage reconnection with the body’s innate signals of hunger, fullness, and food preference by following the ten principles of Intuitive Eating.
